DSE 96
dunno what happenned but dragged out the DSE 96 H/H and ONLY put in the freq 868.0125 pressed enter.Nothing more.
It immediatley picked up the site Number 183A and started loading TGIDS and the dispay showed MOT and percentage of signal strengh.
In Ipswich the sig is poor and the motor noise is barey audible.
During the week ill take it for a drive along with the 996T.
Cheers Rod

Re: DSE 96
Don't know specifically about the Dick Smith DTS-96 (no such model as a DSE 96), but some of the digital scanners will operate in what is called Control Channel Mode (800 MHz Band ONLY), whereby they only require the entry of the Control Channel frequency. However, having said that, you must have just 'jagged it' as I am sure that that Site still rotates its Control Channels on a regular basis.rredbeak wrote:dunno what happenned but dragged out the DSE 96 H/H and ONLY put in the freq 868.0125 pressed enter.Nothing more.

Re: DSE 96
ok had a quick look on my records
183A is the Mt Coot-tha Motorola Smartnet System i usually get traffic on this site a bit more during the day then anything else, as for what comint said it still does rotate every twenty four hours between LCN 280 867.0125 and LCN 2A8 868.0125 like i said most traffic is between Monday and Friday business hours, mostly couriers and Australian Traffic Network - Brisbane use this site

Re: DSE 96
yea i put both freqs in on a seperate channel each. The 867.0125 does nothing.
Took it up behind the ipswich hospital on top of the hill. On 868.0125 it showed 99% Signal and the motor noise was incredible.
It kept showing only one ID but was only tones like a double beep occasionally.
as yet to hear voice.
But ill take it to bris when we go and give it a good run. We go plane spotting now n then and i expect to possibly hear bulwer isl and pinkenba too hopefully.
Cheers Rod

867.0125 and 868.0125 are Control Channels. You will only hear the data stream (motor noise) on one frequency OR the other - not both at the same time.rredbeak wrote:yea i put both freqs in on a seperate channel each. The 867.0125 does nothing.
By ID, do you mean 183A. That is the System ID, and a Site only has one System ID. It sounds like you do not have the scanner set up properly (ie, to Trunk Track). It kept showing only one ID but was only tones like a double beep occasionally.
You will NEVER hear voice on the frequency that is transmitting the data stream.as yet to hear voice.

Re: DSE 96
it showed a TGID as well as the site id but the tgid only had tones.
I never programmed it at all. only put in the cc 868.0125 and it did ewverything else automatically, thats why i took it up the hill just see what else it would do automatically. As i said it showed 183A ALSO TGID 53584 [from memory] and only double tones.
It is an interresting find and im looking forward to taking it to brissy as theres heaps of 800MHz freqs i put in now.from RR.
Cheers Rod

Re: DSE 96
Rod,
there is only three 800MHz Trunking systems in brisbane that are trackable by any scanner that is the 183A Mt Coot-tha, 0A15 - Pinkenba, and 5924 - BP - Bulwer Island, all the others that you are talking about like the system on Mt Gravatt is Motorola Zeon Digital which as stated several times before is untrackable

I believe the only 800MHz frequencies shown on Radioreference.com (RR) for the Brisbane area, are the same shown on these forums.brisbanescan wrote:there is only three 800MHz Trunking systems in brisbane that are trackable by any scanner that is the 183A Mt Coot-tha, 0A15 - Pinkenba, and 5924 - BP - Bulwer Island, all the others that you are talking about like the system on Mt Gravatt is Motorola Zeon Digital which as stated several times before is untrackable

Yes youre correct i put in all the 800 MHz stuff from RR AND all the 800 MHz TGIDS and Freqs on this forum.
TY Phil,
I am aware now that only 3 systems smartnet exist here.
We're off plane spotting [Bris Apt] very soon and i expect to be in 800 MHz range of pinkenba, bulwer and mt cootha as a side issue trunking while at the apt.
Cheers Rod

QANTAS at Brisbane Airport have a Smartnet System in the 400MHz band which is also on the forums so give them a try aswell

Hi Rod. ID 53584 is for data only; there are several such IDs. Suggest you block/lock it out and do the same for the others you discover (or find listed in this forum or elsewhere). This forum has a good list of known current talk group IDs, as does www.brisbanescan.com.rredbeak wrote:just listenning inside our home in ipswich low on the riverbank behind a hill to brisbane with the rubber duckie ant on the 96 on 800MHz trunking and continually get 53584 on 183A.on 865.51250 MHz.

Alex is correct i have put alot of known talkgroups on this forum as well as brisbanescan however alot of them are now nolonger being used as alot of users are transferring over to the newer Zeon Digital Network, i honestly am suprised that they have not taken the pinkenba site offline however time will tell what will happen

Re: DSE 96
Motorola Zeon Digital is a TDMA System all you will hear is a very damn annoying buzzing most scanners out there only support FDMA so even if someone created software for it i doubt it will happen in the near future
