Trunking Gold Coast
Hi,
I have noticed that the 865 -869 MHz band of the trunkning network here on the Gold Coast has gone quite (dead).
the control freq 869.6125 is still active but no voice. Has all parties now gone to the digital trunking?
Paul.

It appears that way.alinco21 wrote:Hi,

I was at the Gold Coast back in early August, and most of the Peninsula Building frequencies had TETRA signals on them, and the only Motorola Smartnet stuff was the Control Channel.

Basically the same thing is happening in Brisbane, with SysID 000A on Mt Coottha now quiet, and SysID 183A sounding decidedly 'sick'.
SysID 0A15 Pinkenba (Brisbane Airport) is still working, the last time I listened. And the 400MHz system at the airport is going strong.

Re: Trunking Gold Coast
looks like I'll have to get a dig scanner that covers the Ausi Trunking bands.
the BC785D that I have is the US version and has the blocked Cel network which is our trunking bands
works get on the rest of the stuff.
Paul.

Don't be in too much of a hurry. There is currently no scanner available that will decode and trunktrack a TETRA system.alinco21 wrote:looks like I'll have to get a dig scanner that covers the Ausi Trunking bands.

And an Australianised version of the 396XT and 996XT is supposed to be available before the end of the year.
Also, there are rumours afoot that Uniden is developing a scanner that will handle DMR Trunked Radio (Digital Mobile Radio Tier III - or MOTOTRBO, as Motorola prefers to call it).

Re: Trunking Gold Coast
OK, never came across the control channel when I have done some scanning at the airport. Had a look through 410 - 430 on ACMA and checked the usual sites around the airport, but didn't turn up anything that looked like a trunking system, do you know the frequency of the control channel??

Interesting, a QANTAS system, will have to head down and have a scan and whack Unitrunker onto it.
Thanks comint.

Re: Trunking Gold Coast
Have you ever tried TRUNK88 for monitoring Motorola systems? A lot more User friendly than UniTrunker IMHO.rooster wrote:Interesting, a QANTAS system, will have to head down and have a scan and whack Unitrunker onto it.

And those frequencies, and other relevant information, is already posted in this forum.Doogs38 wrote:Think this is it from the ACMA website (the bottom five freqs):

Oops! Thanks Comint. Was my poor attempt at responding to the post above about being unable to find anything on the ACMA website. Now that I'm looking at it, it was an old post anyway.
