Disable ptt on icom IC41-S?

I have a hm mike attached so I have no need for the ptt on the handset itself. It's now "sticky" and often my radio will be locked on without me knowing. Is there a way I can disable it either with programming software or by physically removing part of it??

Easiest way to disable it, would be to remove the attached mike!

Failing the removal of the offending mic, you "should" be able to disable PTT via software - simple check box?

I thought you talking about the removable mic.

Check out the software to see if you can disable the PTT.
Failing that, get the mic fixed

Hi I just checked the software and there is no simple way to disable the PTT by software. The easiest way is to remove the switch and if you are going to go to that length of trouble you may as well fit a new one at the same time.Good luck. Regards

All i had to do was power it on while holding the Ptt button!

Good morning Richard, Turning the unit on while holding the PTT button in will either activate or de-activate the PTT Hold function. Regards YipYip
