Long story short, I live in a rough area and any odd looking antenna outside will attract the interest of the local junkies.
I am setting up SDR and intend on doing more data decoding, ACARS, POCSAG,weathersat, etc.
My question is, what would you use for an internal antenna? I have access to the roof cavity so it will most likely go up there. (Standard tiling)
I will probably make the antenna myself.

Re: Best antenna for indoor installation
It's all going to be dependent on signal strength/distance/interference ect , sometimes just a handheld antenna is needed and other times a base whip antenna is needed , a new VHF UHF whip antenna with lead can be purchased for under $50 on ebay , so it's mostly trial and error to see what works best for you .
