Ive always wanted one...

What about the Icom unit Its almost on par...

As far as I know, none of the AORs, and none of the Icom Scanners Trunk.

No, it doesn't trunk but it's a brilliant radio. I've had mine about 5 years now.

i know its a great radio,all AOR stuff is in my opinion.

But its hard to drag that much money out of a pension when it doesnt do everything i want. Maybe after xmas i can sneak up on the payments slowly.

AOR US are now offering a "System Upgrade" to their Mk III scanners
from what I can see it's a complete new mainboard with includes digital P25 and trunk tracking and the old option cards are no longer needed as the CTCSS etc options are built in, it also includes a micro SD card slot for recordings

At the moment they will only modify US versions with the blocked 800MHz and my guess is it will cost about the same as a new radio, so maybe a new radios may be on the way
