88 - Incident Repeater

88 - Incident Repeater

Hi All,

i have channel 88 as the Incident Repeater Located in Brisbane and Surfers however i am getting ordinary traffic on this channel at the moment is this normal when they do work on the repeater or is it a one off

what callsigns are coming over it Phil? A repeater may have gone down and 88 has been patched in to cover it - the callsigns will give us an idea though.

Chan 88 is also used at :

Gympie (for the muster)
Eumundi (usually for the Mooloolaba triathlon)
Woodford (the folk festival)

i am thinking it may be the folk festival however i can't get Woodford from here, it is a copy of the Vote 4 Caboolture

whats this channel 88 you speak of ?

I really need to look at the QAS bandplan around here :(

Incident repeaters are usually pulled off line to service a particular event or incident. Some regions leave them on line and linked into the major network often to provide improved portable radio coverage. The talk was that they would be linked to provide a TAC arrangement in the bigger centres.
