Cool. This is the second set of shots they have taken of them. The first was at Keperra quarry and I am guessing that these are the same as well. (I was with them the first time)

From reading a press release these ones are just specifically designed for wide load escorts.

Pretty much it just has a message board on the front as well as the back and new takedown lights to replace the ones covered up by the message board. Apart from that there are no other differences (apart from it being a Hybrid)

I am sure that they can be used for other general duties usage. The only thing that is different that between other general duties vehicles is the engines. And yes, QPS does have a budget and some officers are really fussy (such as requesting the model with leather seats). These vehicles were made in response to officers in mining areas.

I'd imagine these would be a fair bit comfier to sit in, after all, you do have to sit there for hours and hours.
