MORE new antenna

Post by Blake »

I hate you all.
You've got me hooked, and I can't go back.

So, in addition to the TWO shortwave antenna, TWO television antennas and the ONE scanner antenna (loop one, showed it in a previous post), I've felt rather compelled.
Yeah, I totally need more antennas.

I've recently made/constructed/assembled TWO MORE antennas.
One vertical dipole, tuned to 149 meg, for pager decoding (but currently being pushed into other roles  )
And a UHF CB Whip.

The dipole is made out of two pieces of copper pipe, housed in painted PVC pipe, tuned to 149 meg:

(And yes, I know the feedline is far to close to the elements  )
It also looks bent in the photo??? It's not IRL.

The next, which hangs out on a boom from the scanner antenna, is the UHF BC Whip:

It kinda works, but only kinda, i'm in the process of building a 9db collinear to replace it (on a seperate mast).
That's in a previous thread I posted a couple of minutes ago).

So, comments, questions, criticism?

Yep, as long as they work and make you happy that you built them, looks great!

I often build my own Dipoles (For Rxing) tuned to particular or centered frequencies..

Hell, i even use recycled VHF Tv Antennas for AIS Ship Tracking & Pager Decoding! I think you may have seen that post! ;)

No such this as "have too many antennas" ha ha

Cheers
