Hi guys,
I know the GWN is encrypted, however I'm in Toowoomba for the weekend and wanting to play around with some freqs. I have no idea how to program this into my Uniden UBCD396XT. I have programmed in some frequencies, 412.9125 and 422.0500. info on scanner display is giving me ID 10306 and SID:0658h-0203, however no voice from these channels, I'm assuming because I haven't programmed something.... Any ideas?

I am fairly sure the UBCD396XT is set up to NOT give you any audio if the signal is encrypted.Kazzaw wrote:Hi guys,

Both those frequencies are on Mt Rascal, which is just south of Drayton, and therefore not likely to have too many of the City units affiliated with them.
420.0500 is, as you posted, SID:0658h-0203, and
412.9125 is SID:065h-0204, which is one of the four Air Ops sites around Southern Qld. and is only likely to be active when there are bushfires about.

Re: Programming P25
It is picking up a signal, etc but nothing further. From what I've read, the handset should display APOC25 or something on the display.... Will have more of a play around later. Not into actually look for anything, but first time I've brought my digital scanner to Toowoomba and looking to play with some frequencies. Thanks

Re: Programming P25
Something I overlooked in my previous post.
Apart from the encryption issue, the GWN is APCO P25 Phase II, and it is my understanding that the UBCD396XT is NOT Phase II compatible.
