UBC126AT - Battery Life in Close Call Mode
If the UBC126AT was just in "Close Call Temporary Store mode", with no back light and volume as 0, what battery life would you expect? A full day?

It would depend on whether you were using primary cells or secondary cells. Whether they were fully charged, how much Close Call activity was recorded to mention but a few. But in short to last a full day (24 hours) I would suggest not.tanger32au wrote:If the UBC126AT was just in "Close Call Temporary Store mode", with no back light and volume as 0, what battery life would you expect? Thanks for the replies. This was for a project where I would be leaving these in random locations (locked up) and later checked for activity, I could check them once and day but would prefer to find a way to power them for longer. I might have to look at an extra power bank setup.

Sound intriguing.
Not sure about your scanner...
Scratch that, i just looked it up.
You could go with a high capacity USB power bank,
something like one of these:
Little: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/all-ph ... ck/806753/
Big: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/all-ph ... ck/806620/
Gargantuan: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/all-ph ... ck/995143/
That might be an even more long term option.

A USB power bank was an idea. I am just working on this side of it before I discuss what I am doing this for.

Re: UBC126AT - Battery Life in Close Call Mode
My first run of this was not great. Using normal AA batteries (non-rechargeable) I ran this last night in the car while out driving and then parked up for a few hours before coming home, batteries were showing almost empty after just under 6 hours.
My next plan is to try the same test but with some high capacity rechargeables.

Wow, that was rather 'spy' like.
All covert with disguises and the like.
Good read.
Maybe you should work for ACMA doing their 'interference inspections'.

Thank you. Was a good way to get the info I wanted and something I might do again in the future.
