Icom 400 on hook scan
Hi Guys, is there a modification that can be done or a change in the program to stop the scanning function from only happening when the microphone is earthed?

Sure is. Remove the front panel from the radio and there is a tiny solder pad that you bridge. the radio then scans without the need for the mike to be on the hanger. The pad is marked "hang" from memory.

Greetings
you can also disable mic off hook from any Icom radio by just grounding the hanger inside the microphone.
You can then start/stop the scan from the front pannel regardless of mic or ground wire. Good for plastic dash boards.
