This is not good news but we all new it was on its way. P25 digital simply does not work with portable radios even in melb outter suburbs police complain about the systems flaws. As soon as the police in rural vic go digital this state will be a police state and ill be moving state. They already have issues with analouge voting network in the country and they want to push for digital. This will cost lives. However this is just my opion

Ok guys ,,,

I got sick of the Chinese whispers and went straight to the horses mouth to get the answers ,

I have found out the following ,

firstly as we all know the RRDS/RMR roll out has been delayed due to the work bans at ESTA , the estimated roll out date is April , around the 5th ,

and also the interesting thing I found out as we all know the CAD /Metro area was not if the first round or the up grades , it turns out it has never been on the table , the CAD /Metro area being districts /regions 7/8/14/13 will stay the same , there will be no change there is no plans to change this current network , nor is there any funding for this ,

if any one wants to know more send me an email or pm

The fact that the Radio Communications Network for those Districts is not part of the project has never been any secret John. Other than those Districts radios requiring the reflash to enable them to be able to work and operate on the RMR Network should the need require. (Strike Teams, etc).

Even since the initial announcements it was made clear where and what the project was aimed at.

What 'Chinese Whispers' in particular are you referring to?

Not saying those Districts won't ever make it to the RMR Network as their core communication system, even if there is no funding being considered at present, just that they were never part of the initial project. It was made clear it was for 'Regional' areas.

Have a look at the initial press release and it actually makes particular mention of the exclusion of those Districts you mentioned. http://news.cfa.vic.gov.au/news/radio-d ... -news.html

mate you are quiet right , how ever while i have understood this to be the case , i am aware of some of the "crews" in the CAD area , that were under the impression that the RMR was at some point going to include the CAD area ,, i know this from the "folks" that call me asking me about digital radios for receivers

i was simply clearing up for those that were not aware , and before shooting my mouth off i thought i would go straight to the source for the answers ,

like i said i have in been aware this was not going to include the CAD areas from what i have read , and heard , but like i said i do know some have had a concern when this system is implemented it was at some stage going to take in these areas ,,

if you wish to see a full copy of the email i received send me an email and i will send it across ,

have a great Christmas and a happy and safe new year !!!

John I don't need to see any email as I'm already aware that those Districts aren't part of the project as of yet.

It is possible it may happen 'at some stage'. But for now, no.

For the record those Districts actually have TGID'S set aside in the radio re flash, however they're not enabled on the network. (Along with numerous other TGID'S).

Should they ever have a need for them they just put them in the back end of the network and the radios will immediately work on them as the radios will not require another re flash. Someone clever has actually thought ahead.

You can see the 'DENIED' in Pro96com when users cycle through the channels that aren't enabled.

Enjoy your Christmas and New Years mate. Stay Safe!
