NSW Police South Coast, Wagga and Goulburn etc

Post by Newy1234 »

I turned my scanner on today to my normal freq 467.925 to have a listen, but there was nothing, went for a scan and found them now on 468.575.

Anyone in Sydney, etc may want to know.

467.9250 and 468.575 have returned to the dark side (digital encryption)
468.8500 still operating multi-site in the western Sydney region, in analogue with the yankee/whiskey link as at 4th April 2013

468.8500 appears to have disappeared about a week after Easter - about 8th April or thereabouts
The Whiskey/Yankee link can still be heard on the GRN talkgroup 10019, as late as last night (logging off Horsley Park Site 145), as a number of emergency services affiliate occasionally to listen
Not sure what you are hearing on 468.5250 that identifies Wollongong as the location - the two ACMA enteries give Adelong (near Tumut) and Ardlethan (west of Temora).
The site at Condell Park entry is P25
Warilla VKG controls the Whiskey channel normally
468.0500 is being transmitted from Cessnock, Taralga (Mt McAlister) and Mt Gilbaltar, Mittagong
At a guess I would say you pick good signals from the South

468.050 is gone again.

Hope it comes back. Can still hear them on 469.000 but its a bit low in signal, maybe I need to improve my antenna setup.

Looks like we are loosing or have lost the south coast. I was at my farm in the lower hunter on the weekend and used to get 468.850 and VHF low 78.4375 but they are now both gone.

Only one around Sydney that I get now is 468.525, Bathurst, Lithgow etc.

Hi I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to UHF and am wondering if I can still listen to the South Coast police with my Uniden 7740nb radio now that they are digital? Do I need a new radio or change to a new frequency? Or is it now encrypted?

Thanks

You won't be able to listen with a uhf radio on receive only channels, you will need a good quality digital scanner.

not marketed in australia, however you could get a 996xt or any other digital scanner from the states, you can however use a remote head on the 396xt however i have found that the audio just isn't loud enough for use in my car.

From folk on the nsw south coast the word is police in the nowra/shoalhaven area moved over to p25 last week. like the north coast there are pockets of p25 already further south around ulladulla and moruya but a significant area is still analog. The techs are slowly setting up p25 to cover the coast. Blacktown

Whiskey (Wagga) and Yankee (Goulburn) channel still coming through tonight into the Sydney Metro area on the GRN Talkgroup 10019 ESO10 patch
I was listening to Chullora (Site 107)
Nothing heard on the old 468Mhz frequencies that use to carry Wagga etc
