Gas Leak at Greenwattle St Toowoomba

Post by jrd »

Around 15:30 a gas leak was reported. QPS, QAS, QFRS all responded.

For QFRS 312A first on scene, called Greenwattle Control. 311S arrived afterwords.

Exclusion zone set up using lots of QPS resources, including a 900 unit from "Operation Shazam" whatever that is.

Source of gas seems to be Telstra pit.

Had 100% LEL. Wouldn't want to be smoking there.

Anyone have pages messages for this call?

Thanks BG.

Questions:

1) What is 311S? I didn't know we had a Hazmat unit in Toowoomba?
2) Does anyone know what this Operation Shazam is?

a Sierra is a BA & Hazmat support unit.
Last time i saw it was last year when it responded to a large bushfire in our area as the control vehicle.

900 Units are generally Highway Patrol Units as for the operation it is probably another traffic related operation hence the use of a Highway Patrol Vehicle
