Thinking about starting a Stream

Post by glen_2006 »

At the moment i'm getting a mix of Ipswich and Brisbane emergency services. I see there is already one a stream for Brisbane Firecoms but nothing for Ipswich.

Just wondered if anyone is in interested in a stream being setup for the Ipswich services? I can't run it full time - since I have a laptop and take it places, but can easily keep the scanner on at regular intervals.

Let me know your thoughts and I might run some tests. :)

If you need any help, just ask, be happy to help out
Seems to me that I can receive various areas where I am, which gets confusing sometimes

Thanks for the feedback. I know how to setup a stream - so its more a question of what we want on the stream. As bodyguard said, I also get various areas, so i'm quite divided over what to listen to! Especially on a Friday niht now, its going off with the amount of incidents!

I'll investigate it more over the weekend. Thanks for the support.

Glenn Ipswich Police are good to listen....Redcliffe's alright depends though can be very quite in Redcliffe sometimes Ipswich your almost promised to have a few code 2s.

Ambos are kind of Quite up here because of the MDT's they only confirm code 1's.

Anyway hope that help you make a decision on what th listen to

Yes Ipswich Police has been what i've been mainly listening to. There was quite abit last night after that officer was assualted at One Mile. I haven't been able to pick up Redcliffe at my location. I have had Logan Ambulance and Police pipe in okay though, with some static.

Yeah Redcliffe police has some black holes in the radio system its really only good if you are in the local area of the repeater...however Logan is excelent get it crystal clear from Redcliffe on 468.725 which as far as I am aware is in Beenleigh. Ipswich police come through with static and I miss some transmissions on 468.750. I can also get Gold Coast police on 469.150 but it is basically unreadable.

It's amazing how I cant get the Maroochydore police. Must be because of Glass House Mountains in the way. Maroochydore is a bit like Redcliffe though only good too listen too sometimes.

Cheers,
Dan

I'm getting Ipswich Police loud and clear on 468.175, the rest of their repeaters are mostly static. I get the Logan/Beenleigh area on 469.425 more clearly then any other channels. Haven't tried any Gold Coast police as yet, but Logan is weak as itself, so I doubt the chances.

I'm thinking a combination of Ipswich Police, Fire and Ambos on a stream would be a good option. Police are especially busy as i've gathered, so I can will probably a priority on that channel.

Being in Ipswich I could really apreciate an Ipswich based stream......keeping a keen eye on this development.

I'm going to run a test tonight and I'll post the link shortly. I just need to get a stream server setup, since my router is really confusing to port forward.

http://66.212.28.156:1656" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false is link to my stream. Its a 32k AAC feed. All feedback appreciated.

Its only taking 3 channels - Police, Ambulance and Fire from Ipswich. But Police have a priority clearance on the scanner, so it will interrupt the Ambulance or Fire transmissions if any are being made while a Police one is being made.

I also have a friend who has a scanner at Logan i'm going to see if he can get it going as well. Will keep you posted.

Ok - Logan Stream is http://66.212.28.156:1701" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false. Its simulcasting Logan Police, Fire and Ambulance. We're just confirming the frequencys which work with him, so we can narrow them down.

Yes - I'm running mine on my laptop, so I'll be in and out regularly with it. It will at least on at night and overnight I would imagine. I'll update the new topic with times and such. Plus there may be times I use the scanner for other purposes, but it will eitherway still be streaming if its connected to the computer.

I would imagine the Logan one might be do - but we'll confirm that along the track.
