Help UBCT9

Post by rumjar1986 »

Hi I am having issues with my Uniden Scanner UBCT9. It picks up the 88-108 Mhz but won't pick up anything higher. Even if I set the frequency and TX from a handheld around 20 meters away. It was working great a few months ago but now it's just a little weird. When in the 400-512 range I try and set the squelch to off and still get no hiss or any transmissions. however I am wondering if when I was setting up the unit again I pressed something and am not sure what. I know the models up from this have a reset ability but after looking in the manual for it, had a read page to page and can't find anything. does anyone have any idea what I can do or what could be wrong? as far as I am aware and from what I have read about this similar issue is if I can get transmissions from 88-108 everything is fine. I am just lost. I know I should be able to pick up something. I know I can where I am cause my programmable handheld picks up the Ambo's and fireies up here. please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem with my T9,
ended up dumping it cause Uniden couldn't / wouldn't supply a main board for it
Cheers

damn it. and don't have the money to replace it. It's didn't cost me anything to begin with but that is ok. were you able to inspect the main board at all? see any visual signs like blown caps etc?

I had a radio tech look at it, they are surface mount components, but he was very sure thats where the problem lay.
Then Uniden couldn't/wouldn't supply the board and the radio became history.

I have seen on many forums, the same problem happening to the T9, yet the T8 I have works flawlessly
Sorry I couldn't be any more help
Cheers

I had a T9 and it wasn't very old and crapped itself. Uniden refunded my money rather than fix it. My T8 works great though.
