AM radio band interference Glen Waverley

Post by Slattery »

Something that has baffled me for the last 15 years is whenever i am travelling south on Springvale Rd, Glen Waverley 200m before the FTG Rd intersection there is tremendous interference when listening to AM radio in the car.
It is at address 540 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley. Does anyone know why?

I notice when travelling south on Springvale Road in that area there are Optus broadband cables on the poles.
At a guess I'd say these are causing the interference.
I have the same issue when travelling southbound along Nepean Highway through Mordialloc to Carrum. The cables are on the poles on my L/H side. No issue when travelling northbound on the same road.
