CFA IN MELBOURNE DIGITAL OR ANALOGUE?

Broadmeadows
Police on MMR Network (Encrypted)
MFB area on MMR Network (Unencrypted)

Craigieburn
Police on MMR Network (Encrypted)
CFA area on VHF Analogue (Unencrypted)

Frankston
Police on MMR Network (Encrypted)
CFA area on VHF Analogue (Unencrypted)

Sunbury
Police on MMR Network (Encrypted)
CFA area on VHF Analogue (Unencrypted)

Epping
Police on MMR Network (Encrypted)
MFB area on MMR Network (Unencrypted)
CFA area on VHF Analogue (Unencrypted)

Given areas such as Epping and Craigieburn are in reality border stations between the MFB's Metropolitan Fire District and CFA areas it's not uncommon to have both agencies attend the same call in these areas.

You'll often have MFB trucks from Broadmeadows or Somerton attend the Craigieburn or Greenvale area with CFA for jobs, etc.

Epping has an MFB and CFA presence.

CFA use digital/analogue radios - recently replaced as part of the CFA radio replacement project.

They will be using digital at some stage, but for now their radios are set to use analogue channels.

Having said that some groups may choose to use p25 for fireground channels for testing.

I am sure that you would be able to program them in

I highly doubt it - as all the info in the scanners are generic - it may cover what you are wanting to listen to - however it could be in a generic bank/search pattern

You will probably be able to find someone's data file with it all pre-programmed and use a cable to upload to scanner

Ok guys ,,,

I got sick of the Chinese whispers and went straight to the horses mouth to get the answers ,

I have found out the following ,

firstly as we all know the RRDS/RMR roll out has been delayed due to the work bans at ESTA , the estimated roll out date is April , around the 5th ,

and also the interesting thing I found out as we all know the CAD /Metro area was not if the first round or the up grades , it turns out it has never been on the table , the CAD /Metro area being districts /regions 7/8/14/13 will stay the same , there will be no change there is no plans to change this current network , nor is there any funding for this ,

if any one wants to know more send me an email or pm
