Scanning in Central West NSW (Condobolin)

Post by panrid67 »

Hi all,

I’ll be travelling to Condobolin (just west of Parkes) for a few weeks for work.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on what’s available to scan up there. Are there any unencrypted NSWPF freqs or anything else I should know?

Appreciate any help.

Cheers

78.4875 and 78.1875 on VHF for Police around Condo. Just be aware they may switch over to digital soon as Parkes and Forbes (all apart of the Central West PD) went digital about 3 weeks ago.

Thanks mate.

Much appreciated. Up there next week so hopefully they don’t go digital before then.

Do the other emergency services use the GRN up there?

No problems, yeah not 100% sure about the GRN out there. Don't live any where near Condo.

FYI Police went digital, Condo, Lake Cargelligo, Trundle, Tullamore went over beginning of the week. One less thing to listen to when you're out that way again.

Ross advised elsewhere that Channel Zulu is now digital and encrypted on December 18 2019.
Turns out I can now "hear" the P25 sqiggles from Mt Edith (near Jenolan Caves) on 469.000 from SW Sydney (87km direct path) for an hour or two in the morning and afternoon - the Tamworth VKG radio ids (2803 and 2804) appear from time to time

Orana Midwest PD is all digital, but Central North PD Bourke, Walgett and all in between is still VHF. Will be gone in a few months aswell.
