To spring or not to spring....

The setup - AXIS broadband scanner antenna on a bonnet mount on a 2016 Pajero going to a uniden scanner mounted in cabin. On the opposite side, a RFI CDQ 5000 Black Rugged 5dbi UHF CB Antenna bonnet mount, for the uhf cb.
The question, to put a spring on the scanner antenna base to screw the antenna onto or not?
What are the pro's and con's of doing it or not doing it.
