CFA Pager Goes crazy?

Today for the first time in all my years of firefighting my CFA pager went nuts on me.
i got almost 200+ messages of segment 1 segment 2 etc. until i pulled the battery out of the pager and reinserted it.
i understand this is some sort of over the air programming but when i rang district they said no reprogramming was done.
i lost all my settings and jobs once i put the battery back in. any idea what would have caused me to receive all those messages and has it happened to anyone else out there?
