Man charged after laser pointed at police chopper

Heidelberg Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 23-year-old man after a laser was allegedly pointed at the police Air Wing early this morning.
The police helicopter was flying over the Heidelberg area when the laser was allegedly shone into the aircraft about 2.05am.
The West Heidelberg man was arrested at a McEwan Road home a short time later.
He has been charged with conduct endangering life, possess prohibited weapon and interference with crew or aircraft and will front Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court this morning.

And a again, this time, they "mistook the police air wing for a UFO".
A Brighton man was surprised by a visit from police early this morning after allegedly mistaking the Police Air Wing for a U.F.O.
The police helicopter was flying over the Brighton area when he allegedly shone a laser into the aircraft about 1.25am.
The 42-year-old man was arrested at a Bay Street home a short time later.
He was interviewed and expected to be charged by summons with conduct endangering person and interference with crew or aircraft.
