Programming Help

G'Day Everyone,
I'm back

Well, a few days ago, I bit the bullet and purchased my first handheld scanner; Uniden BCD325P2-AU.
Well, it arrived this morning, and I have been having some extreme difficulties programming it.

I've tried the preprogrammed defaults - nothing.
I have been reading through both the online manual for weeks, and the hard copy again several times today.
I've bummed around through menus, i've tried ARC XT (which surprise, does work with it :o ).
So far, nothing :x

I'm hoping that if I list my programming process, one of you great blokes could point out where i'm going wrong.
Say for instance, I try to program to listen to CFA.
(At this stage, I don't care about districts, i'm just trying to get anything at all  )

So here's how i'm doing it:

Make new system
P25 system
Standard Trunk
New site
Set frequency
Input 168.175 (what I believe to be the RMR control channel for Kyabram)

Now, it appears to automatically get the band plans, but when I try and scan that new system: nothing.

It IS set for ID Search, not Scan. So shouldn't it just pick up everything???

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks blokes.

Oh, P.S. VicPol (not that there's much point), but is that just a voting system?
Conventional (digital) or P25???
Haven't tried, but I assume I can do that fine.

Again, thanks. :)

And, nevermind.

I had a play around with settings and frequencies.
Had a read of various sorta related, but kinda not articles online, and reread the manual.

I'VE GOT THE CFA WORKING!!! :D

So, that's one problem solved.

Now, how would I go about specifically isolating one district?
i.e. just listening into District 20.
I'm guessing it has something to do with specific RMR Id's (like 30520).
But how do I get it 'in' there, so that I can choose what CFA districts to listen to???

Any ideas blokes?

Thanks again.

And again, not much sleep, but I got it figured out.
Created a 'Group', instead of a 'Site' (under the RMR System), which I could program TGID's into (and Quick Key for turning on and off).

So, the CFA is all sorted.
Sorry for jumping the gun guys.
But sometimes, when you see your thought process in writing, it really helps to work thing out. :)

Appreciate the feedback. I'm sure others will use this information when they go to program their rig (and others similar)
