Moreton Bay & Sunshine Coast QPS District Now Digital

Post by alpha1001 »

It's Official! :o

Unfortunately Moreton Bay & Sunshine Coast QPS Districts are now digitally encrypted Apco 25 (P25).

The switch was officially flicked at 11:30am Today 08/03/2016.

It was only a matter of time before they where going to use there digital radios that were already installed waiting for the switch-over.

This means that any of these stations or frequencies will not be available to the public or anyone with a scanner or receiver of any type.

Can confirm this.

I knew it was coming yesterday, and heard the last broadcast.

Been an avid listener for years, have a lot of mates who are police in this district and loved listening to them while on the job.

Technology catches us in the end, and I guess the grubs have also contributed to this happening also.

FYI, Cairns VKR is still active and doubt it will switch anytime soon.

Cheers

Gympie police are still active on analogue, and should be so for a little while yet, but expect them to be gone by the end of the year, (inside info). North Coast ambulance is still analogue in Gympie and all Sunshine Coast traffic is heard, and there are some QFES units not in the actual Sunshine Coast area are still analogue. Unlike QAS, they don't seem to be broadcasting on both modes. Dept of Transport seems to be about the best at the moment. I am listening to them on 163.9625.
