Well folks there we have it - scanning the emergency services in SEQ has just about come to an end. Now to watch eBay and pawn shops be flooded with scanners!!

I personally listen mostly to aviation, has/will your interest in scanning now die? What will you listen to now?

There is other stuff to listen to but the majority was the emergency services. Rail network is interesting and I like listening to the RAAF especially when I can see them as well. Will have to do some re-programming now :D

I'm in the north coast region so I'm not cut off yet but I'll be keeping my scanner but it will likely just be for UHF CB when 4wding to see if there are other drivers nearby.

Firecom was the reason I got into scanning

I have noticed a few (more than usual) scanners listed on eBay from the Brisbane region.

Let them, once they realise then they to will flood the various sites wanting to offload them.

Or expect an increase in site memberships as they join thinking we all hold the key to make their new P25 scanners work so they can listen.

I will ask the obvious question. When will the emergency services go fully digital in SE QLD? Has it happened already? Sunshine coast qps qas and qfrs are still audible on analogue for now. I suppose this will go shortly. Shame as I'll miss it. I suppose all thats left is rail, commercial repeaters and amateur and airband of course.

I have it on reasonably good authority that the sunshine Coast will be fully digital by the end of the year, if not sooner. The Gympie police comms will be handed by the Sunshine Coast by the end of the year. 8 officers have been advised that they will be redeployed as a result.

Hey, I never thought of that. After practicing the law for so long and doing insurance fraud, you'd have thought I was more devious. Must be losing my touch. Instead of giving up though gentlemen, and ladies I suppose, we really have to explore other avenues of radio to pursue, and that time is now.
