ok,my 996T arrived on time etc. Absolutely love it but back in learning mode again.
Looked on my comp [tower not laptop] only to find no com port, Now i bought it new and THOUGHT it had one.
Anyways,Will a USB/Com port cable suffice on the 996T please,Cause, My laptop doesnt have one either.
I have Trunkview and proscan, will the usb/com plug be an issue?
Cheers Rod

I've never had any troubles with USB to RS-232 adapters with TrunkView, rredbeak wrote:ok,my 996T arrived on time etc. Absolutely love it but back in learning mode again.

Just make sure it uses either the FTDI chipset, or the Prolific chipset.rredbeak wrote:TY,

Jaycar Cat No. XC-4834 is Brand X, and only rated as USB 1.1, and is only $26.90brisbanescan wrote:most computer stores don't sell them Jaycar and Dick Smith on the other hand do dick smith is about 80 however i am not sure of Jaycar
Dick Smith Cat. No XH 3331 is a Belkin brand, and $79.94
Harvey Norman also sell Belkins.
None of those dealers specify the Chipset.

Re: ooops, im sure there was one before
TY Guys, i HONESTLY appreciate the help.
I did a search of jaycar/dse and found both the above mentioned ones, but they say nothing of chipset.
But as Ross says hes not had issues with jaycar and its cheap, ill go with that.
Ive noted the jaycar part number also.
Cheers and MANY thanks.
