Station was demolished in March 2010 to make way for a 4-bay station with enough headroom to accommodate higher appliances.

Here's the receivable frequency lists for this area :
466.1500 FM 12.5 FIRE QFRS - Firecom Southwest -Picnic Point
466.6000 FM 12.50 FIRE QFRS - Firecom Southwest - Mt. Kynoch
465.9500 FM 12.50 FIRE QFRS - Firecom Southwest - Crows Nest
78.68750 FM 12.50 FIRE QFRS - Firecom Southwest -Picnic Point
467.6500 FM 12.50 FIRE QFRS - Firecom Southeast - Southport
I included Southport as it comes in 5 by 5 here. Yes, I know its bounced through some repeater nearby, but it can be of interest and get a lot busier that Toowoomba, especially RTC's.

Think you will find - the reason it is coming thru so strongly - is that it is not from Southport - but rather from Mt Perseverance (close to you in Highfields!)

Southport QFRS is what I am hearing , even if it comes via Mawson Base in Antarctica!

Yeah here's some more photos and some Infomation:
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service Station Toowoomba was a design and construct contract with the Department of Emergency Services to provide a vital hub for the organisation within the Darling Downs Region. The existing precinct was dilapidated, but was an iconic building for the community. After taking all factors into consideration it was decided that a new and improved use of space was needed to allow the station to function to its potential. It was identified that there was a need for compliant training areas and rest rooms, which the previous structure was lacking. Therefore it was essential that the building included an office, training room, mess and recreation room with fully functioning kitchen, 6 bedrooms, gym room, locker room and turnout room. Within the engine room there is a 33kva generator to supply enough power to the whole complex in the case of a power surge. The engine room also features a hose drying room and equipment store. External to the building are car park facilities for staff that doubles as a large designated training area for practicing rescue procedures.Construction involved a basic raft slab, treated timber frames and trusses, steel engine room structure with a mixture of brickwork, FC cladding with the roof covered in colorbond sheeting. The mixture of roof lines, dark bricks with white mortar and rendered FC, highlight the front entry area. The main problem occurred whilst removing the footings and retaining walls. Multiple locations of asbestos were identified, which had been buried and used as backfill a long time ago. The whole site was deemed as contaminated so the ground works had to be closely monitored to minimize the risk of airborne asbestos. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service's updated storage and training facilities will allow them to continue serving the Toowoomba community into the future.
