QFRS Fleet 980

This is one I snapped today. Call sign 230 Victor. I have seen it out the back of station 34 before but today it went back to 35 with 235 Alpha. Would it have a spare appliance that just goes where its needed or has a place to park?

If its anything like the "lesser used" pumpers down here, mainly used for transport runs (IE say a truck had to go from Surfers to Southport Workshops, the offline pumper would be driven one up to Southport and our aerial appliance (not often used) would tail the pumper, pick the driver up and return to surfers).
That may be what is was used for or for other things such as "brigade duties"...

I'm supprised they turned out 230 Victor. The usual thing is 235 Alfa and Kilo turn out together. And I think they have a new Charlie that I've been hearing out and about the last few weeks. I haven't been hearing 235 Kilo in a while.

They have a couple of them parked out the back of 34. There were a few of them getting around in the flood cleanup. I wonder what the new Isuzu is thats getting around then. I thought it might have been 235 Charlie.

Just wondering why 230V is a pumper and not an old milk tanker like they have in Region 5 at Caboolture 28 station.

I don't know for certain but an old milk tanker would be utterly useless around these parts. It's pretty hilly country so a lot of our rural and iZone appliances are geared toward that type or terrain. It was to the point that brigades were passing up new medium attack appliances because their design isn't any good around here. The canters rule the roost with their shorter wheel base and minimal rear overhang.
