Yeah Grant you did but I believe it was around the time when we had the server issues and it deleted the last few days posts etc.

Sorry its been a while Luke.Luke_g wrote:Hi mate,

I have been busy with other things and have mainly kept up to date with one of my local Sydney forums.
Reply to your Question above, generally for me GRN reception while stationary is about 20% better then when mobile, this has been the norm for years and reception is again more worse on 35+ degrees days or days of high winds.
I also have a GPS Connected to my 966T and have a GPS NSW GRN System too, so generally when Mobile my 996T in conjunction with the Connected GPS will always pickup the closest 2 Sydney Metro GRN Sites and the closest Country GRN Site while Mobile in Country areas.
Also I have Metro & Country Aerial Setups too, one setup for Sydney Metro which I use 2x Small 20cm aerials for Amateur & Scanning, good for underground car parks and as I have family who live on both the Queensland & Victorian Boarders, I do a lot of travelling so also have more Suitable 1m & 2m Aerials for my country driving too.

Re: JAFO's Mobile Comm's
Nice setup there Grant.
I was thinking of mounting my UBCT9 on the dash, but I an reluctant to do it because of the high temperatures we get up here. The dash is pounded by sunlight due to the pitch of the windscreen, so I reckon the temperature would be well above the factory recommendation for the unit. I have absolutely no space elsewhere.

Re: JAFO's Mobile Comm's
I have used double sided tape to affix a Hydrant Marker Plate (10cm x 10cm) to the dash, and then affixed a Nokia Swivel Mount to the Hydrant Plate (through the Dash Mat) and connected the Nokia Mount to the rear of the RH-96 housing - works a treat, have also used the some mounting method for my Reversing Camera Monitor too.Stretch wrote:Grant how is that secured to the dash??
