Tweed District VRA

Post by geoffro316 »

The Tweed District VRA (Volunteer Rescue Service) is a Primary Rescue agency for the Tweed Heads (Tweed Shire) area. They roll as "dual response" rescue with the NSWFB in the urban areas.

They are activated by VKG Newcastle (Police) dialling into their radio network via landline (telephone/radio patch). VKG gives them the details of the call over the air, then activates their "tone only" pagers. Most of the members have a radio in their car so they all call in to find out what the job is. They do a great job, but all their private vehicles can be a hinderance at a job on a narrow stretch of road.

VRA repeater freq: 78.4625
