Matt, I was out at Browns Plains recycle centre yesterday looking for some steel and I found a big white verticle antenna its probably about 12 foot long has no coax on it but has a thread on the end of it looks as though its a RFI made antenna and has been there for about 2 weeks now.

Re: White Stick for 477
Im after a white stick for UHF CB as well, preferably 9dB or more, 12dB sounds wicked .
Gotta have an N connector..
Alex (Finch)... are you able to make them? im interested...
Shane, that thread on the end was most likely an N conector, which is the standard connector on the end of these sort of base antennas im pretty sure...
Thanks,
YOUNGN

Nah you have to pay for it but im sure as far as they are concerned its just a piece of steel and wouldn't charge much

Re: White Stick for 477
When I ask for a antenna mast from bunnings or a hardware store I always get a very blank look. Its almost like i'm asking them if I could borrow their car for a while.
Don't know if its different up there.
Does it have to be aluminium? I'd say metaland or onesteel is the best option.

Have a look in the Yellow Pages under Aluminium - Retail, for places such as Capral Aluminium Centres, or Aluminium Services and Supplies. Some of them cater to the Home Handyman, and are open on Saturday mornings.bonnie28 wrote:im looking for an aluminium pole around 3m or so for an antenna. Anyone know where I can get 1.
Over the years, I've found Aluminium Services and Supplies, at Zillmere, to be helpful, but there are others.
