Is a pager message an innappropriate way of receiving a message regarding someone death that you know??

is their an appropriate way of letting people know of a death?

the only one i can think of is the Obituaries section of a paper....but then again who reads it?

I guess i would rather know then not know. Just my personal opinion thought
