Re: Do SES use 2m band
On the Gold Coast they are in the 467 MHz area, but are soon to go to GWN, I am hearing.
the 2 mt band is for Amateur use.
many many years ago they would have been in VHF low band.

The 2 metre band, 144MHz o 148MHz is used exclusively by amateur radio operators and can not be used by anyone else. 70 centimetres is the same.

Many many years ago, when SES was known as Civil Defence, they actually used 27 MHz Handphone frequencies (long before CB Radio appeared in Australia).alinco21 wrote:On the Gold Coast they are in the 467 MHz area, but are soon to go to GWN, I am hearing.

Then when they became SES, a lot of them went onto two or three frequencies at 168. something MHz (can't remember the exact frequencies).
