Icom IC-41s software question

Post by portokala »

Hello guys,

Just curious if somebody used this IC-41s software ?

http://www.bmk.com.au/~cbfreq/

Is this radio can be programmed with the new 77 channels without FW upgrade ?

I've still got the dilemma Icom IC-41s vs. Vertex Standard VX-426. Uniden is out of question. :)

Thank you and regards

Boyan

I think you will find this is the actual programming software here http://www.aussiescanners.com/forum/vie ... 265&t=3620

"All 40 simplex CB channels plus 8 repeater channels are available. In addition, 80 private channels are available for programming of extra commercial channels within the 450 to 480MHz range. Its Dust-proof and water-resistant construction equivalent to IP54 " http://www.prestigecom.net.au/index.php ... cts_id=532

As the new allocation is from 476.xxx - 477.xxx as long as you have the programming cable and software you should be roses.

From the look of it the vertex radio can be programmed from the buttons though.

Sorry I read it wrong, the buttons are programable. I would say you need the programing cable / software still. http://www.vxstd.com.au/cb/vx_426.html

Hello guys,

I finally decided to upgrade my IC-41S from 40 to 80 channels. I have cloning cable and software.
The problem I have is that I've tried to "adjust" .icf file from IC-400P and "migrate" configuration to fit IC-41S. Unfortunately cloning software for these radios is different and options/values/settings are different too.
I think there is something wrong with my settings.

Can somebody upload 80 CH .icf file for IC-41S, please or give me direction what is wrong with my (attached - rename .txt to .icf) file.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Boyan

Hey mate

Not sure what's wrong with your file but attached to this post is an 80ch icf file. I've also added a standard 40ch icf and one which has police frequencies added to it (gives you a bit of a reference how to add them to an icf). Cloning software v1.2 and the adj software available from Dropbox : https://www.dropbox.com/s/pox9h1nxjufut ... ftware.zip
Hope it helps :)

Thanks, mate. I've got everything sorted. The problem wasn't with the file, but with some settings I needed to change with ADJ software.

All good. Does anyone know if its possible to boost power from 5w to 8w? Heard some rumours about it not sure if they are true or not. Saw the power settings in the ADJ software but wasn't brave enough to fiddle with them ;)

It is possible to be done with the correct cable most good two way dealers can do this for you, however it will use your battery a lot faster and of cause the legality issues for using it on uhfcb

I am using CS-41S #11 Rev 1.0

Radio works fine initially :D

When i make changes to the programming and subsequently write it to the transceiver IC-41s
the programming works fine, but I have no audio on Transmit.
This is no matter what changes i make, even something as minor as the display test

If I reload the default 40ch program it works fine again
If I upload the 80ch isf file mentioned here, same things... no audio on TX :?:

I am found the CS-41S ADJ Rev 1.1 and that solved the issue.
does Rev 1.2 have any additional features?

Hi Pete. Saw you found the answer in the Austech forum. Might be helpful to share it here too :)
When you program it with the 80ch Narrowband format it sets the narrowband modulation setting to Zero.
You have to use CS-41S ADJ Rev1.1 or later to set the MOD N Setting to 65 and the MOD Ratio to 125 as recommended by Icom, if you dont have the test equipment to set them exactly.
Do not adjust anything else or you may find your radio does not work as it should.
(EDIT: Link below updated 14/10/2020. If it goes down just send me a message)

Icom software V1.3 found here https://mega.nz/file/8tFFHIjB#XjCLVyDYn ... ispAY8Af0Y

Hi,
I have located a copy of the V1.2 software (the V1.3 link above does not work).

Question - where do I locate the Mod N Setting and the Mod Ratio settings?

Thanks,
Andy.

Hey Andy. You will need the CS41SADJ software. Install and connect radio. Scroll down the list and you will find them. Sent you a PM with the download link for the 1.3 software including ADJ. I don't have a good spot to upload them but feel free to share these files. If anyone else wants them shoot me a PM (plz be patient, not online a great deal) Cheers

Hi guys. Having a issue with the ic41s i upgraded it to the 80 channel not knowing that it wont work right anyway i forgot to save the old 40 channel wide band ICF config and i was wondering if anyone has a copy of one.

Also im aware that i can add each channel in but cs-41s#11 isn't leting me change it from N to W and i don't really want to type it all in.

Thanks :))

Good Morning Millsy01, The 80 ch upgrade sometimes zeros the deviation levels and balance levels so it would appear not to transmit. This will be the same if you revert it back to 40 channels. You will need to run the alignment software to correct this problem. With the Icom software the narrow /wide mode is not able to be edited in the CB mode. This can only be edited when programming a private frequency. Regards YipYip
