Post by bodyguard »

Hi guys,
I am heading out to Dalby for work for a week from Monday
Is it worth taking a scanner, any thing to listen to at night while I sit in a motel room ?

Any freqs or info, much appreciated

Dalby whats out there

You can hear police activity for a few towns around as they all use dalby station as their communications centre (

Pretty sure you can hear the gympie surrounds channel from there as well (towns like Kingaroy, murgen etc)

I can't remember the freqs but just scan the normal 128 and you should be able to get them pretty clear

Fire south west there should be 466.0250

Dalby is 80 km from Mt Kynoch, where the QAS Toowoomba repeaters are located, and

about 48 km from Mt Mowbullan, where most of the Emergency Service Repeaters for the Dalby area, are located.

I imagine you have had a look at the ACMA Database.

That frequency is at the QAS Station in Dalby.

There is also supposed to be a QFRS frequency of 467.6500 MHz, and
an SES frequency of 467.5250 MHz at the same location.

The QFRS Station has a 148.6375 micro-cell, if you are set up for that.
