Plantronics H81 TriStar Headset

Post by Mathew »

Thinking about getting one of these headsets for SJAA Comms.

http://www.plantronics.com/australia/au ... ristar-h81
Simply Headsets sells them for a 'decent' price.

Anybody used this headset? Any good/bad experiences?

Oh that's a bummer. I searched everywhere and only managed to find great reviews.
I'm bypassing the amplifier, since the Omnitronics dispatcher consoles have PTT feature on the console, so I only need the disconnect cable (link in previous post).
Main point of the amplifier is so you're able to manage the phone calls instead of having to take the phone off the hook (as you know, but that info's for others)

I wore it for a while earlier tonight, didn't appear to be an inconvenience of any sort.
I don't work at ESTA btw :P - But they do use Plantronics headsets, and tbh it is probably this headset.

Well you would usually need to buy the Plantronics Amplifier (which comes with the other side of the disconnect cable), which lets you manage calls with the buttons. You'd have to manually take the phone off the hook if it wasn't for the amplifiers.

We use the Omnitronics DX64 Dispatcher Consoles at SJAA, which has PTT inbuilt into the VoIP/RoIP consoles, so I do not need any sort of amplifier, only the disconnect cable (http://www.headsets.net.au/ProductDetai ... +COIL+CORD)

If that doesn't make sense, i'll try explain with better words :P
