I'm not sure how to set it up ,we are in the central west ,Orange -Bathurst
And was wondering if there is somebody in the area who could help with programing the unit
.I'm happy to pay a fee

Tony,

I don't want your money and I don't want your medals. Sorry channeling Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men, there.

Do yourself a favour and buy the Butel software package. Even the Basic version is better than the Sentinel software supplied with the scanner. It will save you a lot of time and angst trying to program it manually. You can then logically and easily set out your profile (scanner channel layout) without too much effort.

Yeah mate, what he said.
Programs are so much easier to program with, than those stupid keypads.

There's plenty of frequencies, channels and ideas on here.
Check out VicRadioZone for plenty of amazing, juicy info.
Although many scoff, Radio Reference provides much helpful info.
You can always throw a post up here, and the knowledgeably friendly folk here can help.

Enjoy the obsession.

I'm in Orange, though I'm a little time-poor at the moment, having just moved house. If you get stuck or have any questions on best channels for the local area etc., feel free to PM me.
