Traffic Response Units

Post by hallsie »

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had the freq's for the Traffic Response Units that drive around on the highways and in the city?

Would be handy to have to know where breakdowns and accidents are.

All I know about them is its a joint venture with Dept of Transport and BCC but ran by RACQ.

I've heard them using unit numbers of Tango (then the number) .
Not sure of how many units they have I hear Tango 7 a bit. They now have there TruMax truck as well but unsure of callsign.

I know I'm light on good info, but it's something

The furthest callsign i have heard is tango 13 that is hear in brisbane. It would appear that the base or control centres callsign is BTC. the furthest i have seen the response unit is on the tugan bypass on the gc. This was at 2.30 in the arvo and was sitting at a bypass control for the tunnel
