QAS gone?

Post by Scannersplitterguy »

Has QAS in SE QLD changed over to digital recently?
I can't find them on any known analog channels.

I've been scanning that range and heard nothing. Also checked around 412 - 413 MHz.

Yes, there are still a few in your neck of the woods, but as far as the rest of SE QLD goes, they are gone`

I found regional QAS on 413.425 and 413.350mhz. Transmitting in sunshine coast area but obviously for regional QLD.
I'd be interested to know if you can rx this in Brisbane.

Cheers

These are low powered and very narrow frequencies. You have to be pretty much in the beam to be able to hear them.

Bundy, Maryborough, indeed anywhere north of Gympie is still analogue, but from Gympie south is all digital, as far as QAS goes, that is.

There appears to be a network still in place licensed to Queensland Ambulance on 410-420Mhz for the SE area under the Digital footprint.
It maybe inactive due to the move to the GWN but it is still licensed. Maybe a disaster recovery alternative

There are frequencies still licensed to various emergency services but aren't active any more.
