Number Stations

Has anybody ever heard of these strange creepy stations there is one that can be heard almost everynight at around 6pm on 9-9.3mhz what are your thought on these stations?

If you google number stations or something like that you will find some sites who talk about these. From what I have discovered, little is known about who they or what they are doing. Most people think they are spy stations who have not noticed the cold war has ended lol
