hi i was listening the other day to the ambulance and they mentioned something like a hot shot or hot spot what is the meaning of this

Could have been hot shot - it is slang for a lethal injection of a drug e.g overdose.

Very unlikely...a hot swap is something that happens very often.

To add to brisbanescan, they are usually done when a crew is due to finish their shift and would go into overtime if they had to transport to hospital and ramp etc so they swap crews on scene and head back to station.

Has also been down at a QAS station before. Not long ago there was an article in the paper how they claim the person died because QAS first transported him back to the Ambulance station before another crew took him to hospital.
