Post by kloss »

Anyone have a modified SRM9000 for 50MHz (51MHz) ham use?

The lowest that Simoco supports is around 66MHz. Not only will the programming software not let you program in a frequency lower than this but the firmware in the radio itself will prevent you from tuning to a channel outside of the band range of the specified radio. I tried this a little while ago and found that there are too many restrictions in place to make the Simoco SRM9000 series unit any good for modding with frequency ranges. The only modding that the Simoco is any good for really is to link it to a different system such as building a home brew repeater out of it, or building a computer controlled radio system.
