Soundcard for laptop

Post by rochedalescan »

Hi guys,

I recently killed my laptop that was running my stream so I decided to use an older laptop I had lying around. But the sound is really crap on it and bad for the stream and I can only put this down the soundcard.

Does anyone have any experience/can recommend a decent soundcard that will fit into a PCMCIA port or maybe even a USB soundcard that will work good for my stream. Otherwise I will have to go and purchase another laptop.

Cheers Shane

Usually laptops can be minorly adjusted to sort these types of problems, however I had the same issue that couldn't be fixed as hard as I tried.

I ended up buying a Behringer U-CONTROL UCA202. They retail for about $50 online, and are just a USB interface for a laptop. They have very decent sound quality for a cheap unit aswell.

I have tried the audio control settings etc but the stream is really scrachy but the audio coming out of the scanner is fine and really loud aswell which I had sort of fixed by adjusting the sound settings but yeah still really bad sound.

Thanks TMBAscan I might give that one a go.

Cheers
