VIC - MMR & RMR (RID's & TG's)

Postby Xplorer » Wed Sep 20, 2017 7:29 pm

I have about 3,400 RID’s for both MMR and RMR, but there are some that have escaped me.
I also have some TG’s from both MMR and RMR that I’m trying to identify who they are.

Does anyone know who the RID’s and TG’s below are?

I’m willing to share what I do have, but only if I receive some in return. PM me if you wish.

Hi,

Some of those you have listed are MFB portables.

Here's an article I did on the original planning for the structure of their UiD's.

Keep in mind things have changed and the network 'housekeeping' may not be what it once was.

https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/vicradi ... -uids/amp/

Also 163001 and 163003 will be Fireboat radios from memory.

Also 199390, 199391 and 199392 are 'Ultra Large', not light / lite.

MFBWiki keeps a list of current MFB appliance locations.
That's about the only part of the site that someone regularly updates these days.
To work out an appliance's UID just place 199 in front of the Car No e.g. Pumper Tanker 19 is car 346 therefore Radio ID/UID is 199346.

AV is harder to keep track of as cars get changed around a bit. The last 4 digits of their UID is the car number e.g. UID 246303 is car 6303. The red number seen on the side of the ambulance, car etc. I'm guessing that the first 2 digits may indicate something also, perhaps clinic car, MICA etc.

Thanks for those that have replied privately and here.

I've updated the list above to what is still missing or needs confirming.

Regarding breaking down the UID's, I guess a lot has changed over time and there has been a complete reorganization of radio UID numbering.
There used to be a time where you could work out what station a UID belonged to, but the numbering has completely changed - as I have highlighted in first post.

Apart from physically listening to each time they use their radios, it does make it a difficult task.

Yes, I tried to track AV, but it proved too difficult when numbering changed between shifts where 206389 was Ringwood during the day, then the afternoon came and 206389 became Box Hill.

Mica Response, Motor Bike, HEMS, CBT, Hospitals... all stay the same

Thanks for the assistance so far.

I've update the top post to include what is still unknown.

This includes various TGID's on both MMR and RMR that don't appear to be listed anywhere.
Murphy's Law has it that when the mysterious TGID's are being used, I'm not around to listen and log it.

Also, does anyone have HEMS and POLAIR UID's, as I know roughly where they are but not what their exact UID's for mobile and portables are?

Anyone able to offer some assistance.

Happy to exchange what I do know.

199150 is not a Turntable Ladder.

MFB got rid of it's last TL over a decade ago.

Car 150 is now the SmokeBuster Bus.

Same with Car 103, not a TL but a Pumper Tanker nowadays.

I don't think it has been mentioned previously but when an appliance goes in for servicing or has a fault and goes to the workshops it will be replaced by a 'spare' appliance. This can make it difficult to keep track of appliances sometimes.
As I have mentioned before some kind soul keeps MFBWiki 'Appliance Locations' pretty much up to date.

True, but it doesn't 'adopt' the radios MMR Network UiD, meaning if he saw 199349 as the ID then that is Car 349 which is a Pumper Tanker type appliance.

In nealry all cases in regards to MFB appliances the last 3 digits of the UiD denotes the car (fleet) number.

Possibly the same with the Commanders cars.

The unofficial MFB Wiki is the brainchild of a friend of mine from my Fire Photography days. He has some good people assisting him with it. Incidentally there is a blurb about UiD's in there that gives a rough idea on what you're seeing.

Yes. The MFB Wiki, the Vic Radio Zone, and the VESARS websites are a great source.
I give them real credit for the effort they have put into their work and information.
That as well as listening too, it is a good challenge.

I've almost given up on MAS as they almost change each shift.
HEMS, Mica, Hospitals, Mechanics, 4x4's, Net Com, CBT, Team Managers, Motor Bike, CSO and Events are about the only ones that don't change.

I find MFB more exciting to listen to and see who I can identify.

Possible new user on the MMR, with very active TG's being heard outside of Ambulance Vic allocation.

All are Encrypted P25 Phase I.

20100 MMR - __________
20101 MMR - __________
20102 MMR - __________
20103 MMR - __________

These are outside the Metro Ambulance 20000 - 20099 allocation.
Anyone's guess as to what/who they are.

My initial thoughts were AV, that is some radio zone 2 talkgroups possibly in use at the tennis. An ECC or similiar.
The UiDs are the same as AV however no ESTA console UiDs have been seen/logged as yet.
The fact that the comms is encrypted obviously adds to the puzzle. Time will tell....
