From Blacktown

From Blacktown

Postby germanshepherd » Thu Jun 29, 2017 3:50 pm

I hope this is ok to list Blacktown.
NZ Police in Auckland are using P25 trunking between 490Mhz and 505Mhz with at least 10 control channels/sites audible.
It is encrypted with 256 bit AES.
You cant decode the voice but the talkgroups/radios ids can be logged.
P25 Control channels are continuous whereas P25 voice noise appears intermittently
Very difficult to get much information on this unlisted P25 network except that Tait have installed at least 33 sites in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Maybe Dunedin

From a fellow aussie MattN - the system is id as A43A7

Re: From Blacktown

Postby blacktown » Thu Jun 29, 2017 6:19 pm

This is a summary of my loggings around NewZealand on a big boat discretely using a Uniden 246 analog scanner

What suprised me is that there is a huge amount of VHF and UHF MPT1327 network(s) still in place

There is a considerable amount of DMR especially on the North Island and some NXDN (judging on what i was hearing based on my Sydney experience)

Googling reveals:

NXDN ICOM IDAS
Howick and Eastern Buses Auckland

Trunked NXDN
Christchurch City Council
Canterbury Regional Council

Digital Mobile Radio - DMR
TL Parker, Ashburton Electricity, Canterbury District Health Board,
Port of Napier - Tier III
Powerco Electric Power (North Island) - Private Tier III
- Phase 1 - 15 sites - Eastern
- Phase 2 - 20 sites - Western

NZ Bus (North Star, Metrolink, LINK, GO WEST and Waka Pacific) now using
Teamtalk DMR digital radio with voice and GPS data
