Scanner Car Mount Solved

G'Day blokes,
So, I had a problem,
how do I put/hold my scanner in my car?
Yeah sure it can go in the cup holder, it even actually fits kinda in the door handle cutout thing
But being down low, it doesn't get great reception.
Yeah yeah, I know, get an external antenna
That will come eventually.
I've found that even just elevating it from the cup holders to window line helps massively!!!
So, what was a bloke to do, but build a solution.
Started with some sheet metal, made some measurements, made a prototype, test fitted it, readjusted everything.
Then got cutting, grinding, sanding, preping, more cutting, troubleshooting (the belt clip section was WAY too loose),
readjusting, the pop-riveting, painting, cleaning and gluing.
Anyway, the pics will make some sense of these crazy ramblings.

It just sits pretty there, receiving great reception, held securely.
I Love it.
So, what'd ya' thunk?
And, P.S. yes, that is a custom made antenna.
Made for me by 'Mobile One'.
Really great job.
I can't even begin to describe how much of an improvement over the stock rubber ducky it is.
Phenomenal.
