Major Gas Smell - Banyo

0913 511A 521A 516K turned out to major smell of gas Depot Road Banyo. Multiple 000 calls coming from suburbs up to 7km away.
On arrival gas smell confirmed, checking for source. 000 calls from nearby school and also a service station who thought their own LPG was leaking but proven not to be.
Additional units responded include:

507A responded to nearby state school.
QA and QPS on site
Staging point cnr Depot Road and Crockford Street

507A - at Earnshaw State College which has been evacuated to the school oval. Liaising with QPS and QAS. Atmospheric testing is clear. request another gas monitoring device to the school.

I believe they're evacuating Sandgate High School.

UPDATE: Banyo – smell of gas as at 11.25am

Multiple emergency services crews remain on scene at Depot Street, Banyo following reports of a strong smell of gas in the area. Fire crews continue to investigate the source by conducting atmospheric testing in the area. At this time, 60 students from Earnshaw State College and one student from Sandgate District State High School have been treated by paramedics for varying symptoms, including nausea and coughing. Three students from Earnshaw State College and one student from Sandgate District State High School have been transported to Prince Charles Hospital. Education Queensland is advising parents that students are safe to remain at school and parents should contact their child’s school for further information

ABC 24 has reported that it was an accidental release of a stenching agent used to make gas smell like gas and that a particle in that agent can make people sick.
