Northern Territory Police issued iPads

Post by turbine_prop » Thu Jul 11, 2013 10:09 am

Hi all.

This popped into my inbox this morning and so I thought that I would share it,

http://www.computerworld.com.au/article ... orld-today

I'd say that they are using the Telstra NextG network and some sort of VPN app that lets them log into the NT POL Rego N/W and look up the info.

Just one more communications ti vanish off the air all together.

Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs run digital encryption and have done so for many years, first with 3600 baud 468Mhz trunking and now 415Mhz P25 9600 baud. Their comms is long gone. On the whole using the IPAD as a business tool I am very impressed - its great anywhere with private wifi (eg telstra elite device with encrypted password)- actually prefer that to a smartphone anyday
