Programming a Moto GP339

Post by Scottymac »

Hi,

Relatively new to all this, but stepping up quite quickly.
Can anyone provide some tips on programming a Moto GP339?
I bought the unit second hand, and it came with the USB lead, but no software.
I searched the forums and found info on the software and downloaded it. (R03.12.03)
I trust this is all the software I will need?

I'm running a MAC, and I won't be able to use the software until I get some parallel software.
But once I do, I want to be sure I have half a clue on the "how to".
Can anyone offer some step by step instructions? (programming for dummies)
Also, would anyone know if you can hand program the radio?

I want to program in the 80 UHF channels, and a few of my favourite freq's to listen to.

Thanks

Ok first of all the Motorola gp339 can be a handful, the other question is do you know what band the radio is as it may not want to program to 477 very easily

Hi Brisbanescan

I actually don't know what band it is.
How would I tell this?

Ok,

On the back of this radio I can't seem to find anything like that.
It has: Model AZH25KDH9AN6, and another sticker that has N44, but I don't think that is what your talking about.
Que sinking feeling...

Ok, que sinking feeling. I just pulled the UHF out of the car.

So what is this radio capable of?
Can I still program a few of fav freq's?
Assuming I learn how to program it...

VHF is 148-174mhz UHF is 400-470mhz if you have favourite frequencies that are within the VHF band then sure but you are pretty limited. I guess you could program in some air band stuff or some marine that's about all though ..

Ok,

Thanks for the info. I wish I knew this before buying this radio. I thought I had researched enough, but obviously not.
Anyhoo. 1x "VHF" Moto GP339 with mic and batts soon to appear in classifieds.

Thanks again.

"air band stuff" ? ?

The VHF Aeronautical Band is roughly 118 to 137.5 MHz, and is AM.
