Hi guys,

The Coomera District goes out of existence on Monday so I presume on the list the "Coomera"channels will then be "Gold Coast Northern" channels (as on the new live feed) and the "Gold Coast" channels will then be "Gold Coast Southern" channels. Is this correct?

Cheers.

Interesting. I'll have to do some digging during the week to confirm the current allocations

Yeah I just had a look at that. I'll have to ask some people in the know next week to see what the current channel allocations and linking arrangements are.

Maybe it's time to start a completely new thread on changes which have been made, or may be made across the entire state.

Is that really necessary? I reckon just keep discussing it here and update the first post rather then doing the whole thing again

Changes to names made as suggested. Do I have the channels listed correctly as yet?

Thanks

It is possibly going to get confusing.

Caboolture and Redcliffe Districts are now amalgamated to form the Moreton District, which is part of Southern Region.

Ahh that would be why I heard a crew telling a confused comms operator he'd been told to use the Mike Oscar prefix instead of Charlie Bravo on Monday

While the Commissioner has made a lot of noise about the Restructure reducing the number of Regions and Districts, it has created a sub-set of Districts, which will be referred to as Groups. So, in the Gold Coast District, you are supposed to have, at least, a Northern Patrol Group, a Central Patrol Group, and a Southern Patrol Group, all of which will probably end up with their own Prefixes - maybe GN, GC, GS. But then, they have had nearly six months to work all that out.

As for the Moreton District, basically the original Caboolture District will now be referred as the Caboolture Patrol Group, and Redcliffe as the Redcliffe Patrol Group, so I suspect the original callsigns will remain in use, and whoever told the crew to use the Mike Oscar callsign, didn't know what he/she was talking about. But, I could be wrong.

Hey guys, I heard some "test 1, 2" 's coming through on the old bris south vkr analogue channel yesterday. Anyone have any ideas why? Probably nothing but worth asking the question I thought. Cheers.

Happens from time to time, don't get to excited though, it's pretty rare you actually hear full Brisbane comms on that channel
